Beach Wedding Reception
The most important features of beach wedding receptions include décor, food and the seating arrangements. Let’s take a look at each of these aspects:
Décor: Beach wedding receptions don’t require over the top decorations. This would only make it seem as though you’re competing for attention with the breathtaking landscape you’ve chosen for your wedding. Instead, keep the décor simple and pleasant allowing it to stand out, yet blend into the surroundings. Colorful orchids, sea-shells, star-fish, etc can be incorporated into an understated décor plan.
Food: Food is definitely the highlight of beach wedding receptions and mustn’t disappoint the guests. Most people enjoy seafood and there’s nothing better than a sumptuous spread of seafood delicacies such as crab, shrimp, fish, lobster, clams, oysters, etc. Don’t forget the spirits.
Seating arrangements: For beach wedding receptions, seating can either be fixed or fluid apart from the newly-weds table. If you have a very small and intimate guest list, you might want to leave it to your guests to decide where they’ll sit. If, however, your guest list includes a number of people not known to each other, you might want to arrange it so that no one’s left out and alone.
Other touches: Other important aspects of beach wedding receptions include music and the wedding cake. If you’re getting a live band, you could come up with a list of beach songs for them to play. Alternately create a CD of your favorite beach songs and play them for the guests. Remember they should be good enough to get your guests going. The wedding cake could also be beach-inspired with sea shells or dolphins kissing.
